The Ned

Just before Christmas I finally got to stay at The Ned. I’d heard so much about this place and was intrigued to see it for myself. Based in the City, The Ned is like no other hotel I’ve stayed in before. It almost feels like you’re going back in time to a more glamorous era. As it was Christmas, the place was full of festive cheer; with a huge Christmas tree and carols being sung in the lobby, creating a buzzy atmosphere.

The Rooftop sold it to me though…

Only accessible if you’re a member or staying the night, it’s an incredible spot. Overlooking The City of London, with views of St Pauls Cathedral, the decor is typical of the Soho House Group (The Ned is part-owned by Nick Jones’s empire). Striped sun loungers, pastel pinks, and of course a heated rooftop pool. I visited the onsite Cowshed spa for a heavenly massage, lounged in our cosy room (where you can also get a handful of essentials from Net-a-Porter & Mr Porter delivered to your room within 30 minutes!) and ate in Italian Restaurant, Cecconi’s, one of The Ned’s eight restaurant choices.

We finished the night ridiculously late after heading into The Vault, a cool bar underneath the hotel where 3000 original safety deposit boxes line the walls. With a DJ playing great music until late, beware you may end up stumbling out way past your bedtime as I did! The Ned has such a great feel to it, and I’d love to return soon.
