What’s on my wish-list for SS22

We’re moving fast into Spring/Summer ’22, and with that comes a new season wardrobe refresh.

If you’ve been buying well, you should have pieces in your wardrobe that you love and are excited to wear again this season, and you can have fun thinking of new ways to style.

My favourite thing to do when approaching a new season is to mood-board. I use Pinterest to save images of outfits I love and want to recreate (see my board here), which helps plan new purchases and work out where the gaps in my wardrobe are to help recreate some of my favourite looks.

I get asked about trends a lot, but most of the pieces on my wish list are timeless, which is super important when building your dream wardrobe. There may be one or two pieces that are more of the moment, but the majority of your wardrobe should be classic pieces that you’ll wear year after year.

A Black Blazer.

An oversized black blazer will always work hard for you. This one from Frankie Shop will instantly make any outfit look cool (size down as super oversized).

Totême Pyjama Suit.

A classic pyjama suit is the ultimate in relaxed glamour. I bought a similar style last year and wore it so much. I’m thinking about this Totême striped version in the cream colourway for SS22.

New Balance Trainers.

A fresh pair of trainers is the easiest way to update your wardrobe- I wear trainers a lot, so I know I’ll get the wear out of this latest New Balance style.

90’s Denim.

When I look at my mood-boards, Denim appears a lot! So many outfits I love, whether dressed down or dressed up, involve a cool pair of classic jeans, so I’m looking to add either the AGOLDE 90’s Pinch Waist or REDONE 90’s Loose Fit to my evergrowing collection.

Oversized Leather Jacket.

This Acne Jacket has been on my wish list for years now, and I think this is the year I go for it. I know it will fit seamlessly into my wardrobe and can think of multiple ways I will wear it and where I will wear it, which is a good sign!

Tailored Trousers.

Another piece that crops up a lot on my mood board. Tailored Trousers will make a classic yet stylish addition to my wardrobe- Cos do the best fit on the high street.

A Spring Jacket.

I’ve cheated slightly as this one is already in my wardrobe, but I wanted to add it as it’s such a good piece. ME+EM’s Boucle Knitted Jacket works well with classic denim and can be dressed up or down; I know I’ll get so much wear out of this classic jacket year after year (take 15% off your first ME+EM purchase with code EMMA15)

Oversized Shirt.

An oversized shirt will always be a welcome addition to my wardrobe. Team with trousers or denim, layer with your knitwear, or pack for your holiday over a bikini- this classic ARKET Striped Shirt will work hard for you.

Showstopping Dress.

It’s my 40th this year, so I’m looking for THE dress (or outfit), and so far, this dress from 16 Arlington is standing out for me.

Must-Have Jacket.

Every season I’ll fall for something a little different- this is what I call my must-have piece. It might not be classic or anything I particularly ‘need’, but I fall in love with it- this year, it’s this amazing RIXO Leather Jacket.

The Perfect Tees.

T.Shirts are a staple in my wardrobe, and the perfect ones are hard to come by. COS is one of my go-to brands, and this season I’m stocking up on short and long-sleeved styles in classic colours.

Cargo Trousers.

Cargo Trousers are a trend this season but one that fits nicely into my wardrobe; I’ll be teaming with my T.Shirts and Knitwear and layering with my blazers. They’re from H&M, so a clever way to buy into a trend without blowing the budget.

Leather Ankle Boots.

The dream Ankle Boot for Spring/Summer. The Totême Leather Boots are not too heavy/clumpy and have the perfect heel height.

Celine Sandals.

A big trend piece but one I’ve fallen for in a big way. The Chanel dad sandals were one of my best buys in recent years, so I’m hoping these will work hard for me in the same way. I’ll be teaming with floaty white dresses, jeans and a simple blouse or a beige suit- now I’ve thought of 3 ways how I’ll style am I allowed to buy?!
