Summer In The City

Paid Partnership with NETAPORTER

Staying stylish during summer in a hot city is a challenge, but one I feel I’ve perfected over the years, with a few key pieces in my wardrobe.

Invest in a good pair of trousers. Silk, linen or tailored will all work hard for you during the summer months. I’ve been wearing my embroidered silk Toteme pants in Ivory on repeat. Super easy to style, simple and chic. These Another Tomorrow pleated wide-leg pants are also top of my wish list to team with a tank top (Toteme does the best tanks)

A simple sandal is all you need for a simple summer look. I’ve been wearing my Ancient Greek Charys Sandals with the majority of my wardrobe. Or for a heel Aeyde’s leather mules are my go-to. If you’re in need of something more work appropriate opt for a Ballet Flat or Loafer.

Matching sets or Co-ords are the easiest way to look put together in the heat. I love a tailored waistcoat set, this one from Wardrobe NYC is the dream, and you can team the waistcoat with denim. Plus the Toteme silk trousers I’ve been living in, come in multiple colours with matching shirts. A staple of mine for the last 3 summers.

The Black Dress will always reign supreme in my wardrobe (this one from STAUD is a chic option) but I’m also drawn to a pop of red, this TOVE cotton poplin midi dress is the dream.

A throw-on-and-go shirt will work hard for you all year long, but in summer I love the relaxed way you can style it. Leave it open worn over a tank top and tailored trousers, slip on over a sleeveless dress and I always pack a shirt for a beach holiday to wear over a swimsuit. This Dries Van Noten one is the perfect shape, or opt for Nili Lotan’s crisp white shirt.

Add key accessories to pull the look together, I’m never without my Celine sunnies, a leather belt or slouchy bag. Plus look to make-up brand Westman Atelier to get that dewy, glowing  complexion.
