New Season Shopping List for AW 21

This week, a wardrobe sort out is needed to work out what I need to add to my new season shopping list for AW 21. Autumn is upon us, & I’ve got cosy knitwear, belted coats and chunky boots on the mind!

A few tips I swear by every season before making any purchases-

A big wardrobe clear-out to work out where any gaps are. Collating a mood board on Pinterest with some inspirational outfit ideas. Trying on a few looks, so you have outfits ready to go!

I've curated my new season shopping list below of the best 10 pieces to invest in for AW 21.

Leggings.

Buy the right pair of leggings, and they will fast become your staple all season long. Comfortable, flattering and stylish with minimal effort- add a chunky knit and boots, and you’re good to go. The key is buying a pair that will hold you in; Spanx or Wolford are my go-to, and Toteme for something a little smarter.

Chunky Loafers.

This season, chunky loafers are number one on my shopping list to update my look. Keep the rest of the outfit simple- slim leg jeans, knit dresses or a cropped trouser and let your footwear do the talking.

Knitwear.

Cosy and cool, it’s all about knitwear this season. From Toteme’s sell-out striped knit to Isabel Marant inspired Mango jumpers, anything goes whether you opt for chunky cable knits, stripes or 70’s inspired retro sweaters.

Puffer Jacket.

The puffer jacket has been a winter staple for the past couple of seasons, and it’s showing no signs of disappearing. I invested in a Holzweiler puffer jacket a few years ago, and it was the best decision. When the weather turns, and you need to look smart and put together, having a coat that you haven’t walked the dog in is a game-changer. I wear my puffer over any outfit and still feel chic.

Knitted Dress.

The perfect piece to wear now. I love a knitted dress and wore my Lou Lou Studio purchase from last year on repeat. I recently bought this cut-out style from Cos for a more elevated take on the trend. Team with chunky loafers or boots for an effortless look.

Trousers.

I have decided that tailored trousers are going to feature heavily in my AW21 look. I recently purchased this style from Toteme (can you tell it’s my favourite brand right now?) and wore them with a belt and a knit this weekend. I love the effortless yet stylish look of a trouser when you find the right pair. Wear long with a trainer, heel or loafer and keep the rest of the look super simple.

Wrap Coat.

Number 2 on my shopping list is a smart, stylish wrap coat. I’m going to opt for a fail-safe black style, but you can’t go wrong with a chic camel coat. A belted coat will add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

Belt.

A belt is the easiest way to update your wardrobe for AW21; team with a pair of smart trousers, denim and a tucked-in silk shirt or over last seasons coat to elevate your look. Timeless and classic.

Boots.

Nothing gets me excited more than a shiny new pair of winter boots, and this season there are plenty of styles to get excited over (see my full edit here). I’ve just ordered this pair from Prada to team with my knit dresses and denim.

Quilted Jacket.

We’ve seen plenty of quilted jackets this season already, but there is a reason the sell-out Frankie Shop jacket became a cult buy. Lightweight with an oversized fit, it’s the perfect layering piece as we head into A/W and super easy to style with the basics in your wardrobe- I’ve been wearing mine with leggings, an oversized hoody and trainers for an off-duty look.
