Getting Active

Since lock-down, I’ve had an up and down journey with fitness. It started off strong managing to run 5k without stopping, doing a few Instagram Live Pilates or Boxing classes, then weeks off nothing and feeling bad about it and now July is here (what!?) I’m determined to get a routine and stick to it! I’m meeting with friends every Sunday to run 5k together and trying to get a few runs in during the week. I asked my Instagram followers recently what Pilates/Fitness classes are worth trying online- Zero Gravity, Popsugar workouts and Pvolve came out on top- I’m still yet to try them but have enrolled onto Move Home Studios and looking forward to trying next week, it’s kind of like a Netflix for fitness, you subscribe and have access to a range of Dance & Fitness classes on demand.  Trying to find a routine that fits in with your lifestyle is the hardest thing but running costs nothing and I’ve been getting up at 6.30/7 to head out early so I can fit it in. One thing that does motivate me is good sportswear! My go-to brands being Varley, The Upside, H&M and Free People. I prefer to stick to plainish pieces or more muted colour palettes of Leopard/Tiger Print- Varley has the best non-garish prints! H&M is great for the price and again they have really simple designs/colours that work for me. Vests/Tops in plain colours I pick up at Free People or Upside. Airpods and a Running Belt are two other essentials I can’t run without, and a Yoga Mat is helpful for at-home workouts. No excuses for me now!
