A Daily Dose of Collagen with Dose & Co

I recently had a few chats with friends about Collagen, something I’d heard could be a huge benefit to me now I’m in my late 30’s, and the general feeling from friends was that they hadn’t found the right brand, collagen they had tried didn’t taste too good so they found it hard to be consistent or the products were too expensive , these conversations coincided with the launch of Dose & Co in the UK, a brand that focuses on quality, honesty and eco-consciousness.

I was excited to try their premium products as the more I researched, the more I realised how beneficial Collagen Suplements could be to my body, nourishing it from the inside out. Dose & Co break it down simply on their website- ‘Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that holds everything together. It’s found in your bones, ligaments, tendons, connective tissues and skin, and plays a role in your overall health. The word collagen actually comes from the Greek word “kolla” meaning glue.’ going on to explain… ‘Your body is capable of making collagen and does so quite well throughout the first few decades of life. But age, environmental factors and lifestyle choices like smoking, a poor diet, alcohol consumption and sun exposure can deplete collagen stores and slow down its production. This can accelerate ageing, both internally and externally.’ Reading this really opened my eyes to how important a daily dose of collagen could be to my general health and wellbeing.

I started with the Unflavoured Collagen Powder as an introduction to the brand, adding a couple of spoonfuls into my morning coffee (it doesn’t change the taste) or my smoothie (I’ve since ordered the Protein Powder in Vanilla to make my smoothies) a super easy way to make sure Collagen becomes a daily habit.

Ok, now the benefits- results vary for each individual, I’ve been taking consistently for 3 weeks now, my skin feels good and my hair healthy and definitely growing quicker than usual, I’m looking forward to seeing my hairdresser in a few weeks to see what he thinks, I have hair extensions in the front as my hair just wasn’t growing so interested to see if they’re no longer needed! My skin wasn’t problematic before but you can check out @doseandco to see some incredible before and after results on acne prone skin and scarring, for me it’s about help with the general ageing process and getting some glow back. I posted a photo on my Instagram over the weekend and had a lot of positive comments on my hair and skin so I’m guessing it’s not a coincidence. I’m trying to follow a generally healthy lifestyle so I feel good about adding Collagen into the mix and look forward to seeing/feeling more benefits as I continue on my Dose & Co journey.
